Are you a new reader on this blog?

We are following a plan to read through the bible in one year. you don't have to worry if you fall behind or if you are starting late. Start at the beginning or, if you already started, pick up where you left off and follow along.
People just starting this goal often get bogged down in details, go slow, and eventually quit because it's to hard to reach the end. Remember that it doesn't have to be in one year. When you fall behind just keep going. As you get used to reading you will find yourself going faster and farther and may even catch up.
The first time I did this it took me over 18 months. The last time it took just over 2 months. This time I'm pacing myself to 1 year so others can follow along. Join the quest

Genesis 17-19

God's message to me: Mankind is far to limited in his thinking. Possible and impossible are not in God's vocabulary. God is only concerned with what He has done, is doing and will do regardless of how "possible" we think it is.

Promises: All Things are possible with God.

Commands: Trust and obey seem to underly the passage but aren't implicitly said.

Timeless principles: with God, always expect the impossible.

How can I apply what I have learned: Don't limit God to the "possible". Don't try to figure out how he is going to do it, you won't completely believe it when it happens and you can't imagine it before. DON'T TRY TO HELP GOD! In case you missed it the first time, Don't Try To Help God! Just to be clear - Don't try to help God! You will get it wrong, you will mess it up, you will complicate your life and you will not be helpful.

Many a well meaning preacher has said "pray like it all depends on God, and work like it all depends on you." It's a catchy phrase but it's as biblical as "God helps those who help themselves". God doesn't need you help.

God gave us the resources to handle a lot but the rest is His to work miracles. Stress is one of the biggest killers and it's all because people don't trust God. Every problem has a solution and it is before you from the beginning. Understand that and you have no stress.

Sometimes it is something you can fix or take care of.

Some things are simply not your problem - it does no good to borrow trouble, leave those things to the people they were intended for.

Somethings are outside your power. When you face a problem you don't know how to handle Lift your Heart in Prayer and give it to God. He will either show you the solution or He will resolve the issue for you. You don't need to concern yourself beyond that. Once you give it to Him just forget it. It's handled. Further worry hurts you for no good reason.
